Meet Our Staff At Maple Orchard
The team in West Bloomfield helping all the dogs and cats that come into Maple Orchard Animal Hospital include veterinary nurses, nursing assistants, receptionists, hospital managers, and veterinarians.
Crystal - Hospital Manager
Crystal is our efficient, calm under pressure, powerhouse of a manager. Whatever the day throws at her she is always ready! Crystal was previously a technician for over a decade before becoming our Practice Manager. Her idea of success in veterinary medicine is creating a team that is empowered with education and support for our clients, and the prevention and relief of suffering in our patients. Her energy, drive and above all, compassion is integral and evident in her daily duties. She resides in Ortonville, MI with her family and three dogs, one cat, and a ball python.
Stefanie - L.V.T - Licensed Surgical Technician
Stefanie is our L.V.T lead surgical technician. She was hired as our lead in our hospital’s surgery department in 2020. As our surgical nurse she provides expertise care during surgical procedures. As well as pre-op and post- op medical education to patients with fluidity, compassion and confidence. Stefanie is happily married, and has two fur-babies aka kids. She enjoys time with family and friends, and when she has the chance she loves spending time kayaking, hiking, or even camping.
Alexa - Nurse Assistant
Alexa has been with us since 2016! She has been working as an assistant and going to school. She plans on applying to vet school in the near future. She loves all animal's big and small. In the summer she also works at a farm tending to large animals. In her downtime she enjoys going to sporting events, especially U of M or the Lions. She loves marvel movies, and going to concerts. Her favorite part about working here is the diverse procedures and cases we see, and getting to help the patients when they need it the most.
Kaylei - Nurse Assistant
Kaylei is one of AHMO’s assistants that started with us early 2023. Kaylei is one of the most kind hearted and passionate human beings you'll meet! Her compassion towards our furry friends is seen throughout the hospital daily. She was born in Naples Florida, but moved to Livonia MI, where she grew up. Kaylei has a rare three year old Blue German Shepherd, as well as a five year old rottie. In her free time she enjoys walking her dogs down wooded trails and just being outdoors. She hopes to attend school soon to become a licensed technician!
Nick- L.V.T -Licensed Veterinary Technician
Nick is another one of AHMO’s licensed veterinary technicians. He graduated from Macomb Community College. Nick started his journey in veterinary medicine while still in high school working as an veterinary assistant then pursuing his degree. He lives in Troy with his dog and three cats. Nick is a big help in our surgical department, as well as on the floor communicating top notch education to our fur patients' parents. Nick enjoys fitness, and if he’s not on the job he’s usually lifting weights!
Alicia - Veterinary Technician
Alicia is one of our do all technicians. She grew up around animals in rural and farm settings through her large extended family. In her current household she has three cats, three geckos, two dogs and a bearded dragon. What a fun household! In her free time she’s very artsy. Alicia has painted several murals at 4 different local schools. She is also a big fan of cooking, baking and gardening.
Alma - Lead Receptionist
Alma is our front end leader and has been with with since 2022. As her first time in vet med, that's all it took for her to fall in love with the field after realizing it's not so bad seeing puppies and kittens all day while working! She enjoys meeting the clients and patients and forming bonds while getting to know them. She lives at home with her boyfriend and two cats Milo and Marshaun. Alma enjoys going to art museums and making her own art at home.
Mary Rose - Nurse Assistant
Meet Mary Rose, another one of our talented assistants that has been here since the beginning of 2021. Mary always has a can-do attitude and lends a helping hand to her coworkers and patients in need. She is currently attending college to be a veterinarian also! Mary is Filipino and is one of four siblings. When she's not working or at school or she likes to attend concerts, eat at new restaurants, and catch up on sleep.
Aaron - Nurse Assistant
Aaron is one of our very talented assistants on his way to becoming a technician. He lives in Holly, MI with his longtime girlfriend Bree. They have 2 pets, Hazel, their GSP, and their cat Marlo. Aaron loves to hike, and travel. In his free time he and his family take road trips, and Hazel tags along for the adventure. He loves to play basketball and play the occasional video game.
Shauna - Veterinary Technician
Shauna started here in September 2023, but she has been in veterinary medicine since 2015. Shauna currently attends Washtenaw Community College for pre-nursing. When she's not working she spends most of her time with her 5-year old dachshund, Jericho (Jerry) and her two cats, Raya- 17yrs, and Bubba-11yrs, along with some aquatic musk turtles. In her free time she plays ice hockey on a women recreational team. Shauna is very passionate towards our patients and she makes a point to make visits to the vet as stress free as possible.
